Ingenium is our breed of engine designed for effortless performance, refinement and efficiency and includes the Si4 300HP Ingenium Petrol engine. The Sd4 240HP high output Ingenium engine delivers an ideal combination of class-leading performance and superior low speed driveability.

8-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
All petrol and diesel engines in Discovery are paired with the advanced electronically controlled ZF 8-speed Automatic Transmission, which has been tuned by Land Rover engineers to combine smooth shifting with exceptionally rapid response. With eight closely spaced ratios, gear changes are almost imperceptible.

ALL TERRAIN PROGRESS CONTROL
All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC)1 is a state-of-the-art optional system that enables drivers to set and maintain a steady speed in challenging conditions. Operating like a cruise control system, it functions between 1.2mph and 18.6mph, helping to maintain full concentration on steering and finding a path through obstacles.

WADE SENSING
With a class-leading wading depth of up to 900mm, the optional Wade Sensing feature2 can prove invaluable. Unique to Land Rover, sensors located in the door mirrors give the driver pictorial real-time information about the water’s depth in relation to the vehicle, as well as maximum wading capability via the Touchscreen.

TERRAIN RESPONSE 2
Our unique Terrain Response systems enable the driver to optimise the vehicle’s engine, gearbox, centre differential and chassis systems to match the demands of the terrain, by selecting one of the easily identifiable driving modes. The optional Terrain Response 21 system enhances this by monitoring driving conditions and automatically selecting the correct driving mode for specific conditions.

TWIN-SPEED TRANSFER GEARBOX
With an additional set of lower gears, this system gives you precise speed and control in the most demanding of instances. The heart of the twin-speed transfer gearbox is the electronic centre differential that offers a 50:50 torque split between front and rear axles with the ability to pre-emptively lock the axles before slip commences3.

ELECTRONIC AIR SUSPENSION
A competent, composed drive is completed by the latest four-corner electronic air suspension system which provides exceptional wheel articulation and poise. AUTONOMOUS EMERGENCY BRAKING
The Autonomous Emergency Braking system will display a warning if it spots a potential collision with the vehicles between 3 and 50 mph, and pedestrians between 3 and 37mph.

Detecting when your vehicle is unintentionally drifting out of the lane, Lane Keep Assist applies torque to the steering wheel, encouraging you to make a steering correction.

Cruise Control with Speed Limiter maintains the current speed without the need for continued use of the accelerator pedal, helping to reduce driver fatigue. It also allows you to pre-set a maximum speed.

Adaptive Cruise Control will keep Discovery a safe distance from the vehicle in front should it slow or stop when you're cruising or travelling in slow moving traffic. Should the vehicle in front stop, you will come to a smooth halt. If the traffic moves within 3 seconds of stopping, Adaptive Cruise Control will automatically resume following the car in front.

HIGH-SPEED EMERGENCY BRAKING
High-speed Emergency Braking detects when a potential frontal collision with another vehicle may occur and alerts the driver to brake. If the driver does not react, the vehicle automatically brakes to reduce the severity of the possible impact.

When changing lanes, a small warning light illuminates in the corresponding door mirror if Discovery detects another vehicle in or approaching your blind spot. Torque is also applied to the steering wheel to encourage you to guide your Discovery away from the approaching vehicle.

Traffic Sign Recognition keeps you informed and aware on the road, by displaying speed limits and no overtaking signs in the instrument cluster, where they can easily be seen.

An optional extra for SE, Landmark Edition, HSE and HSE Luxury models, the Activity Key makes living life to the full even easier. For extra convenience, you can wear the Activity Key and use it to lock or unlock your Land Rover if you prefer not to carry a key fob. The wristband is robust and fully waterproof, allowing you to enjoy a range of activities.

HEATED SEATS
You can look forward to a comfortable driving experience all year round with the option of heated seats across all three rows and heated and cooled front and second row seats5. Dependent on your model selection, both the driver and passenger can set their preferred temperature independently via the Touchscreen.

POWERED GESTURE TAILGATE
Powered gesture tailgate8 allows you to operate the tailgate ‘hands-free’ outside the vehicle without needing to physically touch your vehicle or the smart key. When the smart key is detected, the feature can be operated by a kicking gesture underneath the vehicle using sensors located on either side of the tailgate. As standard, the powered inner tailgate acts as a seating or loading platform, as well as a luggage retainer in the upright position, empowering you to take in the great outdoors with ease.
