COUNTDOWN TO CONVERTIBLE BEGINS AS RANGE ROVER EVOQUE WIREFRAMES TAKE OVER LONDON

Londoners were stopped in their tracks today as Land Rover placed a collection of full-size Range Rover Evoque Convertible ‘wireframe’ sculptures in the iconic streets of the UK’s capital.

The installations were displayed outside prestigious London locations including the world famous Harrods department store on Brompton Road, Knightsbridge and in notable Mayfair addresses.

The bespoke sculptures were designed by Land Rover’s own Design team, using advanced computer modelling to accurately outline the shape of the forthcoming Evoque Convertible. Crafted from aluminium and finished in a range of vibrant colours, the wireframes illustrate the elegant evolution of the Range Rover Evoque’s transformation from coupe to convertible.

Six Convertible wireframes have been produced to give the public a chance to see how the Evoque Convertible will look in an urban environment. Each wireframe will now begin a global tour as Land Rover builds up to the introduction in November of the latest addition to the growing Range Rover family.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer, said: “The Range Rover Evoque Convertible is perfectly suited to the urban surroundings of a city like London and it’s the perfect place to showcase the world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible. The locations chosen reflect the refined and luxurious lifestyle of an Evoque Convertible customer – two attributes this vehicle will deliver plentifully.”

The figures provided are NEDCeq calculated from official manufacturer’s WLTP tests in accordance with EU legislation. For comparison purposes only. Real world figures may differ. CO2 and fuel economy figures may vary according to wheel fitment and optional extras fitted. NEDCeq are figures calculated using a Government formula from WLTP figures equivalent to what they would have been under the old NEDC test. The correct tax treatment can then be applied.

The figures provided are WLTP. WLTP is the new official EU test used to calculate standardised fuel consumption and CO2 figures for passenger cars. It measures fuel, energy consumption, range and emissions. This is designed to provide figures closer to real-world driving behaviour. It tests vehicles with optional equipment and with a more demanding test procedure and driving profile.

TEL (Test Energy Low) and TEH (Test Energy High) figures are shown as a range under WLTP testing measures. TEL refers to the lowest/most economical figures (with the lightest set of options). TEH refers to the highest/least economical figures (with the heaviest set of options). WLTP legislation dictates that where there is <5g CO2 variance between TEL and TEH, only the TEH is declared.
