The TDV6 engine is available with a choice between either the six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. The ZF 6HP26 transmission is one of the most advanced automatic transmissions in the world. As well as offering normal automatic operation, the gearbox offers a ´sport´ mode that alters the timing of gearshifts and throttle response. It also features CommandShift™ giving the driver full manual control of gear changes.

Discovery 3´s advanced 6-speed automatic gearbox features adaptive mapping, giving it an ´intelligent´ capability to adapt itself to your driving approach. Standard with petrol engines, this gearbox also features CommandShift™ which gives the driver full manual control of gear selection when required. A smooth shifting 6-speed manual gearbox is also available with the TDV6 diesel engine.
